M-Tx: Music typesetting

M-Tx is a language for notating music that tries to mimic the two-dimensional layout of printed music. Its implementation relies on PMX by Don Simons, MusiXTeX by Daniel Taupin and successors, and MusiXLyr by Rainer Dunker.

The source code is open and the latest version owes a debt to the efforts of others, notably Christian Mondrup. There is also some documentation. Binaries are available from the Icking Music Archive . M-Tx has also been packaged for Debian and Ubuntu Linux.

In response to popular demand (i.e. one person asked me for it) I have written a rudimentary score-to-parts extractor in Lua.
